About Niekerk
Founded in 1866 when 35 people left Graafschap CRC, Niekerk is now 500-plus members strong. Located on the corner of 24th Street and Country Club Road, Niekerk strives to reach out to our community.

What does "Niekerk" mean?
"Niekerk" means "New Church" in Dutch, which was the native language of our founders.

What is the "Christian Reformed Church"?
The Christian Reformed Church is a denomination that has about 300,000 members in 1,000 congregations across the United States and Canada.

We call ourselves Christian because we believe, by the grace of God, that Jesus Christ is our personal Savior and Lord, and our only comfort in this life and the life to come. We believe the Bible is the word of God.

We're rooted in the reformation of the 1600s. We are always reforming, always having to be reformed, always having to be made new.

We're a church--a community--that is given its origin, purpose, and hope in being part of the faithful body of Christ in the world.

What do you believe?
The Apostles' Creed sums it up well:

"We believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

"We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

"We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen."
